Are you organised, patient-oriented, and ready to play a crucial role in Johannesburg Eye Hospital’s nursing team? We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to ensure our patients are managed in a professional, effective and efficient manner.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
You will be expected to practice within the prescribed Scope of Practice for Registered Nurses, as indicated by SANC.
Promote, supports and restores the health status of all healthcare users.
Assists, counsels and educates the healthcare user to enhance and improve their basic activities of daily living.
Requires critical thinking to ensure a caring therapeutic relationship with health care users, as required by the context in which it is practised.
Maintains the continuity and coordination of health care.
Provides continuous support and care to health care users, irrespective of their state of mind, social standing and health.
Maintain the healthcare user’s dignity through all stages of life.
Provides and maintains a safe and conducive environment for health care.
Ensures the execution of treatment and administration of medication as prescribed by an authorised registered person.
Prevents illness, injury or disability, and alleviates pain and suffering Engages in the unit administration duties, education, teaching and research required to implement or complement the nursing practice.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Qualifications: Diploma or degree in Nursing.
Surgical and Medical nursing experience is required.
Is registered as a professional nurse in terms of section 31(1)(a) of the Nursing Act.
Proof of current SANC registration will be required.
Experience: 3 – 6 years’ experience practising as a Registered Nurse in an acute health care or similar setting.
